Wednesday Afternoon Run Down
This should have been posted earlier, but I don’t have a reason for why it wasn’t so here goes.
- Have you ever wondered why the church should be like Olive Garden? Well, Robin Hunt has the insight on that.
- Half a week of school is a very nice thing.
- Fall break simply was not productive enough so I stayed up until 2 last night finishing up the work I had due today.
- One of my favorite things to do is produce audio productions that make your ears happy. Check out one of my most recent liners.
- My to-do list for this week is much shorter than it was this time last week. Productivity is getting a kick in the butt.
- 3-5 page book review due tomorrow. The book is finished, but I have to just come up with all of my ideas for the paper this evening.
- The weather is a little too warm for it to be considered fall. 78F is too warm without there being wind outside.
- I love wearing hoodies, but it’s been too hot for them lately.
- It was good to have time with the family this past weekend, but I’m glad to be back at school with friends.
- A blog on laughter will come soon…been thinking about that quite a bit lately.
- Our chapel speaker, Matt Rogers, mentioned silly bandz this morning in chapel, I throwing my fist up in the air as he said that, wearing 5-6 of them proudly.
Stream of Consciousness
I have not bloged in a while, but figured I would jot a few thoughts down. I don’t know what I’m about to write, but that is how most of my blogs start anyway. I am just going to start writing and see what comes of my thoughts and consciousness. So I stole the idea of this blog from Scott Taube, guitarist and lead vocalist Philmont, and will just see how it goes.
The first two days of classes went pretty well, you know how those go, Sllyibi, boring introduction of the professor, meeting your classmates, etc. It’s going to be a tough semester for me for sure this time around. I have one of the hardest schedules and it’s not even complete yet. I’ve got 14hrs as it stands right now. I’d like to at least get one more three credit hour class. We’ll have to just see if I can get that worked on in the next week or so.
Jon Foreman is one of the best musicians I know EVER. If you haven’t heard of him or know who he is well you need to. He’s the lead vocalist for Switchfoot, one of my favorite bands. Check him out, and his solo stuff too.
I didn’t want for this to be very long because that would be boring. I plan to blog more this semester, but like I said already, classes are tough. Might not have too much time to do so. We’ll see.
Wednesday Morning Run Down
- I go back to North Greenville in a week. I’m looking forward to being back at school for my senior year.
- North Greenville has a new website. It looks very sharp. You should check it out. http://www.ngu.edu
- Esterlyn makes some really amazing music. I am listening to their album “Call Out” that released last Tuesday.
- The intro to a song on that album sounds like Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” You will just have to listen to it to see what I am talking about.
- While we are on the subject of music. I got House of Heroes new album as well. I got it from Amazon Mp3 for just 3 bucks. Super cheap! I am pleased with this album as well. You have to pay the full price now.
- I have a lot of responsibility this fall with the radio station at school. I am the station manager so that means I have a lot on my plate. I could use all the prayer I could get with that. Thanks!
- Read: Great Ideas Vs. Great Art by Scott McClellan
- Seesalt was amazing! It’s hard to put into words how great this summer was and how much God did, but I might be blogging about it soon, so stay tuned!
- I’m in the middle of Donald Miller’s “A Million Miles in a Thousand Years.” That book has a lot of great content about “story” and living your life with that in mind. Have you read it yet? I’d love to hear some comments on it below.
- I believe that’s all for now. Have a great hump day!
